Mess to Fresh is an online directory that helps you find trusted, DBS-checked cleaning professionals in your area. It's completely free for customers — no sign-ups, no fees. We're not an agency — we simply connect you with independent cleaners so you can contact them directly.

Completely free for customers. You don't need to create an account or sign up to browse. When you want to contact a cleaner, just fill in our simple contact form — your details go straight to that cleaner and nowhere else.

When you message a cleaner, your details are delivered to their private inbox on our platform — only that cleaner can see your information. Our team never views or accesses your personal details. We only log anonymous enquiry IDs. We never share your information with third parties, and you'll never get marketing emails or cold calls from us.

DBS stands for Disclosure and Barring Service — a background check carried out by the UK government. On Mess to Fresh, cleaners with a Standard or Enhanced DBS who are on the Update Service get a live status check to confirm their certificate is still current — these rank first ("DBS Update Service Checked"). Cleaners with a Basic DBS get their certificate and ID verified by us — these rank second ("Basic DBS Certificate Seen" with issue date). We require Basic certificates to be less than 12 months old. All cleaners must hold valid insurance regardless of DBS status.

Search by your postcode, browse cleaner profiles and reviews, then send them a message through our contact form. Your details land in that cleaner's private inbox — our team never sees your information and it's never shared with anyone else. No middleman, no five random companies ringing you.

Yes. Our review system uses unique QR codes that cleaners give to their customers after a job. This means only people who've actually used the service can leave a review — no fake reviews, no paid-for ratings.

We don't display pricing on the platform. Every cleaner sets their own rates depending on the job, so it's best to contact them directly and discuss what you need. This keeps things fair and means you get a price based on your actual requirements.

As a directory, any arrangement is between you and the cleaner. We recommend checking a cleaner's insurance, credentials and reviews before booking. If you have concerns about a listing, you can report it to us at hello@messtofresh.co.uk and we'll investigate.

Early bird members get their first 3 months completely free. After that, membership is just £5.99 per month. We'll always give you 30 days' notice before any charges begin.

Your own profile page, access to our community forum, exclusive trade discounts on cleaning supplies and equipment, and our verified QR code review system so your customers can leave genuine, trusted reviews.

Insurance is required — you must hold valid public liability or professional indemnity insurance to be listed. DBS is optional but recommended. Most cleaners get a Basic DBS (around £18 paid to gov.uk — not us) — we verify the certificate + match it to your photo ID and display a "Basic DBS Certificate Seen" badge with the issue date. We require it to be less than 12 months old. If you hold a Standard or Enhanced DBS and are on the Update Service (around £13/year to gov.uk — not us), we run a live status check and you get the top-tier "DBS Update Service Checked" badge. Update Service checked ranks first, Basic certificate-seen second, no DBS last.

When you join, you'll receive unique QR codes (digital and printable) to give to your customers after a job. They scan the code and it takes them straight to your review page. Only genuine customers can leave reviews — keeping everything honest and trustworthy.

Yes. No contracts or lock-in periods. You can cancel your membership at any time and your profile will be removed within 48 hours. No cancellation fees, no hassle.

Absolutely not. Customers contact you directly and you keep 100% of what you earn. Our only income is the small monthly membership fee — we never take a cut of your bookings.

No. Every cleaner pays the same £5.99/month regardless of DBS status. Ranking is based purely on trust credentials — not how much you pay.

No. We never display your pricing. Your profile shows your name, town and postcode area, services and reviews. Customers contact you through our form or WhatsApp button, then you discuss everything directly. Your competitors can't see what you charge — your business, your prices.

Yes. Your phone number is encrypted in our database and never displayed on your profile. If you provide a WhatsApp number, it's only used to generate a "Message on WhatsApp" button. Even if our database was compromised, your number would be unreadable. You can choose not to provide one at all.
