How DBS Verification & Ranking Works
All cleaners must hold valid insurance. DBS checks are optional but put you higher up the results. We verify what we can — honestly and transparently.
DBS Update Service Checked — shown first
If you hold a Standard or Enhanced DBS certificate and are subscribed to the DBS Update Service (around £13/year — charged by the government, not us), we run a live status check with your consent to confirm it's still current. You get a premium badge with "Last checked" date. This is the strongest level of verification — it's what councils and social services look for.

Most cleaners have a Basic DBS (around £18 — paid to the government, not us). Basic certificates can't be checked via the Update Service, so we verify by seeing your certificate + matching your name and DOB to photo ID. You get a "Basic DBS Certificate Seen" badge with the issue date. We require certificates to be less than 12 months old for the badge to display.
