2. What We Collect — Customers

We believe your privacy matters. When you browse our directory, we do not collect any personal data. No accounts, no tracking, no cookies that follow you around the internet.

When you use our contact form to message a cleaner, you provide your name and phone number or email address. This information is sent directly to the cleaner you have chosen via email. We do not see, store or retain any of this personal data. The only record we keep is an anonymous enquiry reference ID, the cleaner contacted, and the date — this is used solely to measure enquiry volumes and contains no personal information.

3. What We Collect — Cleaners

When you register as a cleaner on Mess to Fresh, we collect the following personal data:

4. How We Use Your Data

We use cleaner data solely for the purposes of:

• Operating and displaying your listing on the Mess to Fresh platform
• Verifying your email address (double opt-in)
• Forwarding customer enquiries to you
• Sending you service-related communications (e.g. launch notifications, account updates)
• Processing your membership and payments
• Preventing fraud and abuse of the platform

We will never sell, rent or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Who We Share Data With

We do not sell or share your data with third parties. Your data may be processed by:

• Our hosting provider — to store and serve the website securely
• Our payment processor — to process membership payments (they have their own privacy policies)
• Law enforcement — only if legally required to do so

Customer contact details submitted via our contact form are sent directly to the relevant cleaner and are not stored by us.

6. Data Retention

We retain cleaner data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your membership, we will delete your personal data within 30 days of cancellation, except where we are legally required to retain it (e.g. financial records for HMRC, which are retained for 6 years).

Unverified registrations are automatically deleted after 90 days.

Anonymous enquiry reference IDs (which contain no personal data) are retained indefinitely for analytics purposes.

7. Data Security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including:

• SSL/TLS encryption on all pages
• Passwords stored using industry-standard hashing
• Database access restricted to authorised personnel only
• Regular security updates applied to our hosting infrastructure

As a registered cleaner, you have the following rights:

• Right to rectification — You can ask us to correct any inaccurate data
