1. About Mess to Fresh
Mess to Fresh ("we", "us", "our") is a UK-based online directory and community platform that connects customers with independent cleaning professionals. We do not employ cleaners, nor do we act as an agency. We provide a listing platform only.
2. For Customers
Mess to Fresh is a directory for customers. You do not need to create an account to browse cleaner profiles or read reviews. To contact a cleaner, you provide your name and phone number or email address via our contact form. This information is delivered to the cleaner's private inbox on our platform, accessible only by them. Our team does not view or access customer personal information. We log only an anonymous enquiry reference ID, the cleaner contacted, and the date for lead tracking purposes.
We do not store customer contact details after they have been delivered to the cleaner, and we never share your information with any third party. Any arrangement you make with a cleaner is a private contract between you and that individual or business. Mess to Fresh is not a party to that contract and accepts no liability for:
- The quality, timeliness or outcome of any cleaning service
- Any loss, damage or injury arising from services provided by a listed cleaner
- Disputes between customers and cleaners
- The accuracy of information provided by cleaners on their profiles
We strongly recommend you verify a cleaner's credentials, insurance and references independently before engaging their services.
3. For Cleaners
By registering on Mess to Fresh, you agree to provide accurate and truthful information about yourself and your business. You confirm that:
- All information in your profile is accurate and up to date
- You hold any licences, insurance or certifications you claim to hold
- You hold valid public liability or professional indemnity insurance appropriate to the services you provide
- If you claim to hold a DBS certificate, it is genuine and valid
- You will notify us of any material changes to your business, credentials or insurance status
- You will not use the platform to mislead customers
4. DBS Checks
DBS checks are not compulsory to be listed on Mess to Fresh, but they affect how your profile is ranked in search results. We offer two levels of DBS verification:
- DBS Update Service Checked — for cleaners holding a Standard or Enhanced DBS certificate who are subscribed to the DBS Update Service, we carry out a live status check (with the cleaner's consent) to confirm the certificate is still current. Profiles display "DBS Update Service Checked" with the last check date. These cleaners rank highest.
- Basic DBS Certificate Seen — for cleaners holding a Basic DBS certificate, we verify the certificate and match the name and date of birth to photo ID. Profiles display "Basic DBS Certificate Seen" with the issue date. Basic DBS certificates cannot be checked via the Update Service, so this is a point-in-time verification. We require Basic certificates to be less than 12 months old for the badge to display. These cleaners rank second.
- Cleaners without DBS are still listed but appear below those with verified checks
Important: We do not publish or claim the outcomes of any DBS check — we confirm only that we have seen the certificate and/or run a status check. A DBS check is a point-in-time snapshot and does not guarantee ongoing suitability. Customers should satisfy themselves of a cleaner's suitability before granting access to their property.
5. Insurance
Cleaners listed on Mess to Fresh are required to hold valid public liability or professional indemnity insurance appropriate to the services they provide. However:
- Insurance policies can lapse, be cancelled or change without our knowledge
- We may request evidence of insurance but do not guarantee any policy is current or adequate for your specific needs
- Customers should request to see a cleaner's insurance certificate directly if they wish to confirm cover
6. Early Bird & Pricing
Early bird places offer the first 3 months of membership free. After the free period, membership continues at £5.99 per month unless cancelled. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' written notice. Early bird offers are limited and may be withdrawn at any time without notice.
7. Reviews
Reviews on Mess to Fresh are submitted through our verified QR code system. We reserve the right to remove reviews that are:
- Abusive, defamatory or contain offensive language
- Fraudulent or not from a genuine customer
- In breach of any applicable law
Cleaners may respond to reviews. We do not edit or alter the content of genuine reviews.
8. Cancellation
Cleaners may cancel their membership at any time. Upon cancellation, your profile will be removed from the platform within 48 hours. No refunds are given for partial months. We reserve the right to suspend or remove any listing that breaches these terms.
9. Intellectual Property
All content, design and branding on Mess to Fresh is owned by us or licensed to us. You may not copy, reproduce or use our branding without written permission. Cleaners retain ownership of any photos or content they upload to their profiles.
10. Limitation of Liability
Mess to Fresh is a directory and community platform. We are not responsible for the actions, services or conduct of any cleaner listed on the platform. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all liability for any loss or damage arising from the use of our platform, whether direct or indirect.
11. Privacy
For customers: When you contact a cleaner through our platform, your name and contact details are stored securely in that cleaner's private inbox, accessible only by them. Our team does not view or access customer personal information. We log only an anonymous enquiry reference ID to track enquiry volumes. We never share customer data with third parties. No account is required to browse the platform.
For cleaners: We collect the information you provide during registration solely for the purpose of operating your listing. Phone/WhatsApp numbers are encrypted at rest in our database. Only your town name and postcode area are displayed publicly — never your full postcode or phone number. We do not sell or share your data with third parties. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will notify registered cleaners of significant changes by email.
13. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
